Montfort Institute of Advanced Studies is managed by the Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel, A Christian Religious Congregation educating and empowering the youth and the marginalized, in the footsteps of St. Montfort.
Montfort Brothers of St. Gabriel is part of the worldwide Montfortian family founded by St.Louis Marie Grignion de Montfort in France in the early period of the18th Century. Currently, the Montfort Brothers manage over 175 educational and career-oriented institutions in India, and Montfort Institute of Advanced Studies is a proud member of this global family.
Montfort Institute of Advanced Studies (MIAS)
Montfort Institute of Advanced Studies (MIAS), was established by the Montfort Brothers in the year 2007 with an affiliation to Martin Luther Christian University (MLCU), Shillong, Meghalaya to further the cause of counsellor education and training by offering a Postgraduate Diploma and Master of Science (M.Sc.) Programmes in Counselling Psychology appropriate for counselling work in community agencies, school systems, couple and family settings, private practice, and organizational settings.
The overall philosophy of these programmes is to prepare counsellors with academic, professional, and personal credentials to perform effectively in their anticipated work settings. Since 2019, MIAS has been an accredited academic partner of MLCU. At MIAS, we pride ourselves on our tradition of maintaining healthy personal interaction among staff and students, encouraging a family atmosphere, conducive for studies and holistic growth of the individual.
