This programme is designed to provide students with necessary skills and competence to assist a mental health professional. The programme seeks to familiarize the trainees with the principles OF PSYCHOLOGY that bind human development. The goal is achieved through a curriculum designed to integrate foundational counselling skills, counselling theories and practice. Thereby enabling personal and professional competence in various helping professions.

Duration          : 1 year (2 semesters)

Eligibility         :  Any Bachelor’s Degree

Course Work:

The course is spread over two semesters, IT includes both theoretical and practical papers, described as core papers and allied papers. The course work provides classroom training in theoretical foundations, training in counseling skills and techniques, mandatory personal therapy, it futher includes supervised field/practical work.

Those who complete PGDCP can further avail lateral entry to the M.Sc – Counselling Psychology course.
